Letzte Woche verbrachte ich meinen Urlaub in einem Nationalpark, um beim Wandern richtig abzuschalten. Die Sonne schien, und die Natur wirkte sehr friedlich auf die anderen Urlauber. Plötzlich gab es jedoch große Unruhe, als ein Mann bei der Landung mit seinem Segel gegen einen harten Baum hieb. Bevor der Unfall passierte, hatte der Pilot noch versucht, die Kurve vernünftig durchzuziehen. Er stürzte zu Boden und verletzte sich sogleich schwer an der Hüfte und am Kiefer. Eine anwesende Therapeutin eilte schnell her, um Erste Hilfe zu leisten, bevor sich sein Zustand verschlechtern konnte. Der Mann hatte starke Schmerzen, doch er blieb ruhig und folgte ihrer medizinischen Routine. Wir riefen sofort den Notdienst, da der Vorfall für die Krankenversicherung dokumentiert werden musste. Obwohl ich eigentlich wegen der asiatischen Kultur hier war, änderte dieser Tag meine Sicht auf die Sicherheit beim Sport.

Last week, I spent my holiday in a national park to really switch off while hiking. The sun was shining, and nature had a very peaceful effect on the other vacationers. Suddenly, however, there was great unrest when a man hit a hard tree with his sail during landing. Before the accident happened, the pilot had still tried to pull through the turn sensibly. He fell to the ground and immediately injured his hip and jaw severely. A therapist who was present hurried over to provide first aid before his condition could worsen. The man was in great pain, but he remained calm and followed her medical routine. We called emergency services immediately, as the incident had to be documented for the health insurance. Although I was actually here because of the Asian culture, this day changed my perspective on safety in sports.
