Letzten Sommer planten wir eine Reise in den südöstlich gelegenen Nachbarstaat, um die blühende Landschaft zu bewundern. Wir starteten früh in unserem Heimatort und wollten am Abend ein kleines Hostel im Centrum erreichen. Die Fahrt war zunächst sehr touristisch und wir sahen viele Berge, die im Winter ideal für Wintersport waren. Plötzlich hörten wir eine wichtige Durchsage im Radio über die schwierige Geografie der Region. Wegen schwerer Regenfälle gab es eine Überschwemmung, die fast wie ein kleiner Tsunami wirkte. Eine Brücke war weggespült worden, weshalb wir nicht einfach fortfahren konnten. Wir mussten an einer Tankstelle rasten und eine weite Umleitung nehmen, die uns fünf Stunden Zeit kostete. Während der Fahrt lasen wir einen alten Prospekt über Allgäuer Spezialitäten, um uns abzulenken. Schließlich kamen wir mitten in der Nacht an und sehnten uns nur noch nach einem warmen Bett.

Last summer, we planned a trip to the neighboring state located to the southeast to admire the blooming landscape. We started early in our hometown and wanted to reach a small hostel in the center in the evening. The drive was very touristy at first, and we saw many mountains that were ideal for winter sports in the winter. Suddenly, we heard an important announcement on the radio about the difficult geography of the region. Due to heavy rainfall, there was a flood that felt almost like a small tsunami. A bridge had been washed away, which is why we couldn't simply continue. We had to rest at a gas station and take a long detour that cost us five hours of time. During the drive, we read an old brochure about Allgäu specialties to distract ourselves. Finally, we arrived in the middle of the night and only longed for a warm bed.
