The corporate management claims to have known nothing about the poor working conditions, but that is completely unbelievable for a company of this size. With such outstanding profits, those in charge must have noticed the warning signs from the factories. There are even said to be internal reports proving that safety standards were systematically ignored. Our citizens' initiative is now demanding at the federal level that stricter laws against exploitation finally be enacted. Better consumer protection is absolutely necessary so that we don't buy products made under duress without being asked.
