Letztes Wochenende wanderte ich allein durch einen großen Nationalpark. Die Gegend war sehr ländlich und die Aussicht von den Bergen war wunderschön. Während des Aufstiegs bemerkte ich jedoch ein großes Problem. Ich suchte in meinem Rucksack, aber ich fand meinen Kompass nicht. Zusätzlich sah ich auf mein Handy und erschrak, denn der Akku war fast leer. Früher war ich ein guter Pfadfinder, aber in diesem Moment fühlte ich mich unsicher. Die Sonne schien tagsüber hell, doch im Wald war es unter einer alten Buche schon dunkel. Ich hatte Angst, dass in der Nacht Frost entstehen könnte, falls ich den Weg nicht fände. Ständig blickte ich auf die Karte und hoffte auf ein Zeichen. Schließlich wies mir ein alter Wegweiser die Richtung zurück ins Dorf.

Last weekend, I hiked alone through a large national park. The area was very rural and the view from the mountains was beautiful. During the ascent, however, I noticed a big problem. I searched my backpack, but I did not find my compass. Additionally, I looked at my phone and was startled because the battery was almost empty. I used to be a good scout, but at that moment I felt insecure. The sun shone brightly during the day, but in the forest, it was already dark under an old beech tree. I was afraid that frost could develop during the night if I did not find the way. I constantly looked at the map and hoped for a sign. Finally, an old signpost showed me the direction back to the village.
