Liebe Reisegruppe, unser Besuch der Kathedrale auf der Anhöhe steht kurz bevor. Dieser Ort ist besonders reizvoll, da er die gesamte Stadtgeschichte auf eindrucksvolle Weise widerspiegelt. Die Kathedrale soll bereits im Mittelalter ein wichtiger Zufluchtsort für Seefahrer gewesen sein. Obwohl der Patron der Kirche heiliggesprochen wurde, hat auch der Protestantismus die Architektur nachhaltig geprägt. Wir hätten die Führung eigentlich früher buchen sollen, um dem enormen Andrang am Nachmittag sicher zu entgehen. Sicherheitshalber möchte ich betonen, dass in unserem Kulturkreis in Sakralbauten stets angemessen getragene Kleidung erforderlich ist. Sie werden dort eine andächtige Stille vorfinden, die selbst bei einer hohen Belegung der Bänke gewahrt bleibt. Es ist überliefert, dass Teile des Schiffs in Krisenzeiten sogar als Lazarett dienten. Einigen Berichten zufolge will ein früherer Elsässer Bischof dort einst ein geheimnisvolles Omen gesehen haben. Bitte achten Sie darauf, nicht zu nachlässig daherzukommen, da dies dem christlichen Menschenbild vor Ort widersprechen könnte. Wer seine Tasche am Eingang nicht hat kontrollieren lassen, darf das Gebäude leider nicht betreten. Ich freue mich darauf, mit Ihnen dieses bisher fast unentdeckte Juwel gemeinsam zu besichtigen.

Dear travel group, our visit to the cathedral on the hill is imminent. This place is particularly charming as it reflects the entire history of the city in an impressive way. The cathedral is said to have been an important sanctuary for seafarers as early as the Middle Ages. Although the patron of the church was canonized, Protestantism also left a lasting mark on the architecture. We actually should have booked the tour earlier to safely avoid the enormous crowd in the afternoon. To be on the safe side, I would like to emphasize that in our cultural circle, appropriately worn clothing is always required in sacred buildings. You will find a prayerful silence there that is maintained even when the pews are highly occupied. It is said that parts of the nave even served as a military hospital during times of crisis. According to some reports, a former Alsatian bishop claims to have seen a mysterious omen there once. Please make sure not to appear too casual, as this could contradict the local Christian image of humanity. Anyone who has not had their bag checked at the entrance will unfortunately not be allowed to enter the building. I look forward to exploring this previously almost undiscovered jewel with you.
