Gestern habe ich in der Mediathek das neue historische Drama gesehen. Der Film basiert auf einem bekannten Bestseller, aber das Ergebnis war leider enttäuschend. Der Regisseur hatte viele wichtige Fakten über das Leben damals ignoriert, obwohl Historiker vorher für mehr Klarheit gesorgt hatten. Bevor die Dreharbeiten begannen, hatte der Zeichner der Kostüme üblicherweise alte Jahrbücher studiert, doch im Film wirkte alles falsch. Besonders die Szene mit einem Ninja im europäischen Mittelalter war eher ein schlechter Joke als ein ernsthaftes Statement. In einer Spalte der Zeitung stand sogar, dass die vielen Fehler im Film absolut verwirrend seien. Es ist tragisch, weil die Produzenten vorher so stark für Authentizität geworben hatten. Wer eine echte Doku sucht, wird sich über diese historischen Fehler sicher nicht amüsieren. Dieser Film ist für Geschichtsfans absolut nicht empfehlenswert.

Yesterday I watched the new historical drama in the media library. The film is based on a well-known bestseller, but the result was unfortunately disappointing. The director had ignored many important facts about life back then, even though historians had previously ensured more clarity. Before filming began, the costume designer had usually studied old yearbooks, but in the film, everything looked wrong. Especially the scene with a ninja in the European Middle Ages was more of a bad joke than a serious statement. In a newspaper column, it even said that the many errors in the film were absolutely confusing. It is tragic because the producers had previously advertised so heavily for authenticity. Anyone looking for a real documentary will certainly not be amused by these historical errors. This film is absolutely not recommendable for history fans.
