Selbst wenn die Datenlage im Hinblick auf die Wirkung im menschlichen Thorax oder im Uterus noch lückenhaft ist, darf die Forschung nicht in eine rein mechanistische Masturbation von Zahlen verfallen. Letztlich obliegt es dem Staatsrat, die entsprechenden Richtlinien für den gesamten geografischen Sprengel verbindlich festzulegen. Es ist unsere fundamentale Aufgabe, die Integrität der Wissenschaft gegen jede Form der ideologischen Korrumpierung zu verteidigen. Methodologically, this analysis relies on a triad of laboratory experiments, computer simulations, and an almost philological exegesis of existing specialist literature. From a historical perspective, some 19th-century privy councillors perceived chemical synthesis more as an elite privilege, whereas today the Federal Administrative Court monitors compliance with strict environmental standards. Should threshold values be exceeded, a constitutional complaint is often the last resort to uphold the rule of law against industrial interests. The ethical significance of scientific findings must never be ignored, especially when considering the perversion of chemistry in an extermination camp or in the context of euthanasia. Today, researchers strive for third-party funding with a brilliance that might have once been reserved only for a Grand Duke or a papal nuncio. In this sense, clinging to outdated models almost resembles a dogmatic confession of faith that smothers any innovation in its infancy. An experienced chairman of the board must therefore understand that legal subtleties such as the statute of limitations do not stand above ecological truth. Even if the data situation regarding the effects on the human thorax or uterus is still patchy, research must not lapse into a purely mechanistic masturbation of numbers. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the State Council to bindingly establish the corresponding guidelines for the entire geographical district. It is our fundamental task to defend the integrity of science against any form of ideological corruption. Only through this interdisciplinary rigor can chemistry make its contribution to a just society.
