In der heutigen Zeit ist es unübersehbar, dass die Fast-Fashion-Industrie unsere Umwelt massiv belastet. Sowohl die Verschmutzung durch Chemikalien als auch der enorme Wasserverbrauch fordern ein sofortiges Handeln vom Umweltministerium. Je länger wir mit strengen Regulierungen warten, desto schwieriger wird es, die Schmelze der Gletscher und den globalen Klimawandel zu stoppen. Die Fabriken umschließen oft Arbeiter in prekären Verhältnissen, während Laster ununterbrochen billige Waren anliefern. Viele Preise für diese Kleidung sind völlig überzogen, wenn man die mangelhafte Qualität der Produkte betrachtet. Tierschützer kritisieren zudem, dass die Produktion von Leder oft mit grausamer Massentierhaltung verbunden ist. Wir müssen den Markt für minderwertigen „Stuff“ versiegeln und stattdessen erstklassig produzierte, langlebige Kleidung fördern. Es ist wichtig, dass wir ein unbeschwertes Leben führen können, ohne die Natur durch giftige Abfälle zu zerstören. Ähnlich wie beim Atomausstieg braucht die Textilbranche nun eine klare politische Richtung und mehr Symmetrie in den Gesetzen. Wenn Konsumenten bereit sind, mehr Geld für faire Mode aufzutreiben, können sie die lokale Inhaberin einer kleinen Boutique unterstützen. Als bewusste Bieter auf dem Weltmarkt tragen wir die Verantwortung für die Lebendigkeit unserer Ökosysteme. Nur durch strenge Regeln können wir eine Zukunft erblicken, in der Mode ethisch und ökologisch vertretbar ist.

In this day and age, it is undeniable that the fast fashion industry places a massive burden on our environment. Both the pollution from chemicals and the enormous water consumption demand immediate action from the Ministry of the Environment. The longer we wait with strict regulations, the more difficult it becomes to stop the melting of the glaciers and global climate change. The factories often enclose workers in precarious conditions, while trucks continuously deliver cheap goods. Many prices for this clothing are completely excessive when one considers the poor quality of the products. Animal rights activists also criticize the fact that leather production is often linked to cruel factory farming. We must seal off the market for inferior 'stuff' and instead promote first-class produced, long-lasting clothing. It is important that we can lead a carefree life without destroying nature through toxic waste. Similar to the nuclear phase-out, the textile industry now needs a clear political direction and more symmetry in its laws. If consumers are willing to find more money for fair fashion, they can support the local owner of a small boutique. As conscious bidders on the world market, we bear responsibility for the vitality of our ecosystems. Only through strict rules can we behold a future in which fashion is ethically and ecologically justifiable.
