In meinen Semesterferien reiste ich in den Nordosten, um eine Woche in einem einsamen Kloster zu verbringen. Das Gebäude lag in der Nähe von einem tiefen Canyon und war für Fremde kaum zugänglich. Ich nahm dort an einer asiatischen Meditation teil und schwieg fast die ganze Zeit. Gelegentlich durfte ich mich im Garten umschauen oder beim Übersetzen einiger Texte helfen. In der nahen Ortsmitte gab es kein Karussell und keine Parade, sondern nur die stille Natur. Meine Seele fühlte sich nach der einfachen Arbeit endlich wieder ganz heil an. Am Endpunkt der Woche nutzte ich den Nahverkehr, um zurück in die City zu fahren. Ich zahlte meine Reisekosten und blickte wehmütig auf die Skyline der Stadt. Trotz des lauten Flugverkehrs kam ich rechtzeitig und völlig entspannt zu Hause an.

During my semester break, I traveled to the northeast to spend a week in a remote monastery. The building was located near a deep canyon and was hardly accessible to strangers. I took part in an Asian meditation there and remained silent almost the entire time. Occasionally, I was allowed to look around the garden or help with translating some texts. In the nearby town center, there was no carousel and no parade, but only silent nature. After the simple labor, my soul finally felt completely whole again. At the end of the week, I used local transport to travel back to the city. I paid my travel costs and looked wistfully at the city's skyline. Despite the loud air traffic, I arrived home on time and completely relaxed.
